I've come to realised that when one is poor during friends' birthdays, craft is the only way out.

day 3 illustration is unsuccessful since i got cockblocked from going home.

and once again we went all the way to the cinema just to find that there's not enough seats left for us,
ended up gate crashing George's 90s party.

before you say i've had an unproductive day, i am working on Chelsea's birthday present right now, AND I WILL CATCH UP ON MY ILLUSTRATIONS TOMORROW I SWEAR T_T

Kurt And The Gang

homegirl and homeboy!

the day started at Pitfield London with a mahoooosive lasagne (a very late lunch).
then we ventured to KK Outlet just round the corner in Hoxton square, where the Kurt And The Gang exhibition is being held. I actually had a look before but i didn't spend long there as i was in a rush, i really liked it though. And seeing it again today was extra helpful since the illustration project starts today...and im shitting myself.
i have come to a conclusion that the simplistic style is better for me, since i cant draw like daniel or sejin...well we'll just have to wait see how it goes.

MIND POWERRRRRRR!!!!!!

Mike Hewson: Homage To The Lost Spaces

new zealand artist mike hewson has created a series of large-scale mixed media installations entitled 'home to the lost spaces'
in acknowledgement of the devastating earthquakes that affected his home town of christchurch in 2011.

the images are plastered on various buildings around the city, providing a temporary and allegorical renovation for the collapsed structures,
displaying scenes of complete and functioning spaces that was known prior to the magnitude 6.3 natural disaster in february.
hewson uses establishments that have been destroyed and now listed for imminent demolition, giving the spaces ephemeral
and symbolic recognition for the event.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

i came across this project during my stay in Shanghai last summer, when i was an intern at Wilddesign and i spent most of my time there on designboom since i weren't being that much of a help :L
i was really impressed by the work, visually it looks amazing and it brings life to the once destroyed buildings as well as the area surrounding it. Also i guess im just a fan of crazy large scale works....

i'm afraid i'll be spamming heavily in these few days...
i wanted to finally take a proper look at all the things that interested/inspired me in these i don't know, 9 months maybe? so there's gonna be A LOT of stuff! all the travelling in the summer was worth it after all.

i shall start off with this, which takes me way back to april/may time, during the A-Level days, fletch has introduced this video to our photography group and i just remember finding this guy such a legend.
